A Fairy Story

'A Fairy Story' focuses on the Grimm brothers 1812 version of the fairy tale Cinderella. The project is made up of a series of scenes that when displayed side by side depicts the story of Cinderella through the technique of environmental storytelling. Environmental storytelling was used as a way of letting the audience immerse themselves into the space to uncover the mysteries that lie within the scenes and lead them to forming opinions and asking themselves questions. The mise en scene, or the motifs and visual cues within the scenes, lead the audience through Cinderella’s story however, using environmental and indexical storytelling the audience are encouraged to come to their own conclusions and develop their own understanding of what the story might be depicting.

Isabella Bodell

As an artist and designer, Isabella values functional design and design that encourages and challenges people to think, and problem solve. She has worked in the area of user experience design for over a year, and feels that her experiences and skills that have developed through her professional and personal work have contributed to her passion for blurring the line between art and design. Through her practise as a designer Isabella employs technical skills, problem solving skills and design fundamentals to develop cohesive tangible and digital projects.
